"goo" is the one of the most popular web portal in Japan (est.1997), sometimes mistaken as if it is an imitation of another search engine, but nope!!, We started services in 1997, and now, we have total 40million access per month. Search engine the main service, additionally, we have produced "Web Contents", "Web tools" and "Community services" (total 7.85 million members).
The name "goo" derives from a very common game "scissors-paper-rock" ("Janken" in Japanese). In Japan, We call the "rock" as "goo", and would start the game by calling out "saisyo wa goo!! (First comes the stone)"."goo" can be the "saisyo wa goo!!!" for your netsurf too!! There, you see, that's why this portal site is named "goo".

virtually view the cityscape.Vitual Tour in NYC not only enables you
to take a look around ,but also make geographically related information
of video available.
The system boasts following features.
a. Car-mounted video recreates the atmosphere of the cityscape that
plain map cannot express.
b. By controlling polyline slider embedded in the video,you are
able to follow the experience of th video shooter.
c.You can post comments,images or edited video on locations on maps.
In addition to the Ginza version of car-mounted video explorer which is
already released.

Search UI Labs
Do you use a search engine? Today, a search engine has grown to become a necessary tool for everyday life, as people go online daily to search and look for the answers that they don’t have. However, the interface design for a search - a style that by typing a keyword, a long list of results comes up - hasn’t changed much since “goo” launched 10 years ago. Of course, the exsiting interface design is very well received by public and surely has high performance, but having just one interface doesn’t seem to be perfect for all everyone. Therefore, the Search UI Labs, by taking the recent development of the Internet technologies into consideration, presents a new search interface and seeks for an outstanding form of a search engine.
